Dato Clothing was conceived by two friends during a simple phone call, in New Jersey. The conversation went like this -- “let’s start a T-shirt company.” This simple statement started us on our journey.

We began by printing one T-shirt with the name Dato on the front, and it evolved into creative designs produced by a number of talented artists. We focused on the artwork, instead of having our company name plastered all over the clothing. Our passion for music, skateboarding, snowboarding, and other alternative lifestyles formed our vision and style.

As the times have changed, our mindset remains the same – to have fun and to stay mentally young. We do not wish to follow trends, we look to set them. It is nice to wear something original rather than something so mainstream and corporate. To stay in line with this philosophy we try to limit our designs and color combinations. This keeps our product fresh and adds variety, so our clothing does not become stale.
